Since November 2003, Survial of the Fittest tournament's have offered the Call of Duty community the highest level of competition. After hosting the first ever competitive event for CoD, SOTF has gone on to host 5 successful tournaments. Most recently, SOTF has evolved into tournaments with cash prizes. On December 1st 2005, Survival of the Fittest 7 was home to the first ever competitive event for Call of Duty 2 as 32 of the best teams competed for $1600. During 2007, SOTF raised the bar once again with SOTF 8 and 9 giving away a total of $6400. Since its inception, Survival of the Fittest has provided competition in Call of Duty for over 150 teams and more than 950 players.
The SOTF organization is run by Ben Rosen, Scott Walkinshaw, and Sean McGuire who have been part of the Call of Duty community since it came out in October 2003 and are dedicated to providing teams and players the best competitive playing environment. As the head of SOTF, Ben Rosen has been a fixture in the CoD community through not only his tournaments, but also from his tenure as the CoD Section Head of GotFrag. Scott Walkinshaw followed Ben in the same position at GotFrag and ran it for almost 2 years. He is also known as a top CoD player after winning a CAL Invite Championship. Sean McGuire was a member of the CoDTV team for a short time, was a CEVO admin during its inaugural CoD2 season, and has competed in Call of Duty for nearly two years. However, just like any successful organization, SOTF relies on the hard work of many dedicated people. The SOTF staff includes admins from both CAL and CEVO, as well as some of the top players in the game.
