Full details on how to register will be given out on the day of registration. All 32 spots in SOTF 8 were sold out in less than 6 hours. This time it should go even faster, so be prepared.

Servers for the matches will once again be provided by NuclearFallout, who is thought by most, and certainly by us, to provide the best gaming servers on the market. To achieve the best pings possible, matches will be played on their Chicago and Dallas servers.

SOTF 9 will bring fans and competitors even closer to the game. For the first time in Call of Duty history, SOTF will have detailed statistics for every match, team, and player. Electronic Gaming Live Network (EGLN) will provide great and exciting shoutcasting of the tournament's matches along with live video streams. Each match will also have a scorebot in an official SOTF 9 IRC channel. You won't be missing any of the action.

United 5 wins SOTF 8!

Tonight we held the Grand Championships of SOTF 8, which was a tremendous bout between United 5 (u5) and Enervate (ENE). It was revealed to the world that United 5 is the Fittest, the best Call of Duty 2 team in North America.

United 5 rampaged through the upper bracket, just stomping on every team that they faced. Enervate had a very tough road throughout this tournament, facing many of the top teams in North America before being defeated by United 5 in the upper bracket finals. After defeating Area51 in the lower bracket finals, Enervate would get yet another chance to beat United 5 and make the difference between walking away with either $1600 or $800.

United 5 picked mp_burgundy and Enervate picked mp_carentan, and on both maps we saw some terrific action by both teams.

mp_burgundy: United 5 over ENE (13-11)
mp_carentan: United 5 over ENE (13-3)

Final Standings

1st: United 5 ($1600)
2nd: Enervate ($800)
3rd: Area 51 ($480)
4th: Revolution Sports ($320)

5th-6th: mut!ny (THG)
5th-6th: Negative Image
7th-8th: 20ID (x6)
7th-8th: 50 Calibre
